The School Day
For safety purposes, we have staggered some start and finish times. Please avoid cutting across the top carpark.
Children from P2-P7 may start to arrive at school from 8:50am (no earlier please) for a 9 am school start. They should make their way to the outlined playgrounds via the middle school gate.
- P1 children should be supervised by a parent/childcare provider in the main entrance area until placed into the care of their teachers at 8:50am.
- P2 children should be supervised by a parent/childcare provider in the area outside the P2 doors until placed into the care of their teachers at 9am.
- P3-P7 children should make their way to the main playground where they will be supervised by staff members.
* Please note that school will finish for P4-P7 at 2pm each Friday.
It is essential that children should arrive to school on time. Mornings are very busy, and consistent lateness causes disruption to your child’s morning routines, and the routines of their peers and teachers. For this school year we will be operating a sign-in book system, parents should accompany their child to the reception area to sign their child into school if they are late. Punctual pickups are also appreciated.
Curriculum
The Greenisland Primary School curriculum is based on the Northern Ireland Curriculum.
In the primary school, this is set across three key stages - the Foundation Stage (P1 & P2), Key Stage 1 (P3 & P4) and Key Stage 2 (P5, P6 & P7).
An overview of the Northern Ireland Curriculum can be read by clicking on ‘The Big Picture’. Further information can be found on the CCEA Website.
